On analysing the posts from scotia bank and amex from Google plus we can see that scotia bank posts 2 to three posts in 4 months where amex posts one post every week.
Scotiabank’s content is more about showing them involved more in community that for sure has shown huge results and following by younger population whereas amex’c content is more about attracting customers based on their ideas of using their products for leisure activities
In scotibanks description they try to be more friendly and welcoming and advice customers to ask them for help in investments or any of their new product whereas amex concentrates more on advertising themselves and projecting them as a company that is very successful and is ruling globally.

RBC bank doesn’t tweet every day they have gap of 1-2 days sometime in a week. RBC main concentration on twitter to tweet about their own promotion, product, services, and their own bank reputation.

TD Canada Trust bank post of Facebook webpage every day. Their post is way of the communication with people. They mostly content they use for posting is about weather, travel, games, voting news. TD also promote their products and services on their face book webpage. On the other hand RBC bank used content similar like TD bank RBC Communicate with the Facebook user using content like wishes to the players, aware people about the Olympic Games, congratulating different field winner who achieve success. But RBC post more about their bank products new schemes, investments, and other financial services as compare to TD Bank. TD bank is using some  50/50 rules TD post are mostly related to people  communication  purpose but they also post about their bank  new product and business services when required . But RBC mostly share 50/50 content on their web page they post about their bank and also communicate with people by using both type of posts. RBC doesn’t post every day on Facebook they have gap in days for 2-3days every weak but in the day when they post some time they post 2-3 time in a single day

Scotia-bank uses various different type of tweets that range from informing people about their new plans, their involvement in community as well as general information about the industry where’s Amex tweets mainly about their own products and they try to attract consumers by specifying the benefits of using their services while on vacation or while eating out.
Scotia bank clearly uses 50/50 rule in their tweets and posts while amex particularly concentrates on their own services, promotions and products.
Scotia bank use hash tags such as #Ecoliving, #popcornlovers’ day etcetera that projects them as a business that is more involved with the communityor in other words with general population. However amex uses hash tags such as #Amextravel ,#AmexBostonMarket etc that proves my point that they concentrate more on their own products and business .

Scotiabanks most successful tweet was the one they posted on March 9 that was about their final three contestants of 2016 Scotibank Photography Award. This tweet was re tweeted 20 times and was liked by 61 people where amex’s most successful post was the one they posted on march 13 that was about enjoying the weekend with amex card. 35 people liked this tweet and was re tweeted 13 times

Scotiabanks tweet was successful as it attracted and promoted young talent where amex’s tweet was successful due to attractive imagery and the idea of a good weekend.

On analysing Scotia bank’s Facebook page, it is very clear that they post everyday but the content of the posts varies from promoting their ideas to just communicating with people on different topics whereas on the other side American express Facebook page had more posts particularly posting two posts per day however their posts just promoted their own products.
Scotia bank and amex both use different types of content. Scotia bank promotes their idea, their new plans as well as shows their involvement in the community whereas amex principally concentrated on promoting their products and new plans.

On analysing the amex’s Facebook page it is very clear that they are not attracting masses by their posts .The best post they have was the one they posted on 11 march that was a promotion in which they talked about the chance for the customers to attend a concert of Paul McCartney.
Scotia banks best post had 1.5k like and 910 shares but amex’s best post just had 410 like and 63 shares
I believe the reason for Scotia banks success behind their post is their involvement in the community and their idea of giving something back to the society where amex’s post had success because they used Paul McCartney’s name to attract people.

How it all started for Scotia bank and American express


On December 31, 1831, a large group of Halifax businessmen met in the Merchants Exchange Coffee House to discuss the need to create a public bank as an alternative to the privately owned Halifax Banking Company. Three months later, on March 30, 1832, royal assent was given to the bill incorporating "the President, Directors, and Company of the Bank of Nova Scotia", with an authorized capital of £100,000 of which £50,000 had to be paid up before business could begin. The Bank of Nova Scotia became the first chartered bank in Nova Scotia and held their first shareholders' meeting at the Merchants Exchange Coffee House on May 10, 1832. By August 29 of the same year, The Bank of Nova Scotia opened for business in the John Romans's building. The original staff consisted of: Cashier (COO) James Forman: and Tellers Alexander Paul, Benjamin Carlile; and Messenger James Maxwell. The Honourable William Lawson was elected as the Bank's first President.

When the American Express Company was  founded in 1850 it was an “express business”. This meant that it was a private company whose business was to carry money, packages or valuable things from one place to another. The US Postal Service had only recently begun. They delivered letters, but not large parcels.

Gradually American Express began to focus their attention on  banks and other big financial groups because they found the American Express very reliable and paid them good money for their services. The American Express gradually changed to be a financial company. In the late 1890s they started to compete with the banks by issuing money orders.
